AWRA-WA Seattle Dinner & Annual Meeting

Monday, December 9th, 2024

5:30 PM to 8:00 PM

We are delighted to invite you to our AWRA-WA Annual Meeting, an evening dedicated to community, collaboration, and giving back. This event is a unique opportunity to support our mission and advance water resources education across Washington. Proceeds will go towards funding AWRA's Student Fellowship Program.

Location:
Ivar's Salmon House - Nooksack Room, 401 NE Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98105

Agenda:

  • Board Meeting - 5:30 to 6:00 PM (open to all members)
  • In-Person Social & Dinner - 6:00 to 7:00 PM (open to all non-virtual)
  • Election Results & Presentation - 7:00 to 8:00 PM (open to all)

     Meet the Presenter:

John Chandler, P.E., Water Resources Technical Lead, Puget Sound Energy

John manages an average of 1.9 million acre-feet of water per year at the Baker Project, a 200 MW, two reservoir hydroelectric facility. He works with several departments to modernize Puget Sound Energy's (PSE) water management program to help work out the difficulties the new license has in operations. As the technical lead, he supports analyses in several departments including Dam Safety, the Integrated Resources Plan, Trade Floor, Dispatch Center, Generating Facilities, Resources Sciences & Asset Management, and more.

    Board Election:

Results of this year's AWRA-WA Board Election will be announced prior to John's presentation. AWRA-WA members in good financial standing should have received an email from ElectionBuddy to vote for next year's Board of Directors. If you did not receive an invitation to vote but feel you should have, please contact waawra.webmaster@gmail.com before December 8th for assistance.

    Registration Options:

    • In-Person: Registration includes a meal from Ivar's wonderful dinner selection and one beverage of your choice. Additional drinks may be purchased separately. In-person registrations are limited, so we encourage you to register early and share this event with colleagues and friends!
    • Virtual: For the convenience of members all over the state, we will be hosting a hybrid event. While the board meeting and full dinner experience can only be enjoyed by in-person attendees, a virtual option will be available for the election announcement and presentation. Virtual attendees will receive a link to participate via our webinar service the day of the event.

Registration Fees (Must Register by Sunday, December 8th):

    • $40 = Non-members and guests
    • $35 = AWRA-WA current members
    • Free = Students (must be currently enrolled full-time)
    • $10 = Virtual attendees (registration required)

You can pay using a credit card by registering online. If you are planning to pay in person at the event, please note that we can only accept in-person payments in the form of cash or a check. A receipt can be provided upon request. AWRA-WA will fully refund the registration fee if cancellation notice is received at least 4 days before the event.

Can't attend? You can still make a difference!

If you are unable to join us for the event, you can still support the AWRA-WA mission. Your donation will directly fund education programs, student fellowships, and other AWRA-WA initiatives.
