The Washington State Department of Ecology’s 2019 Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington: An Overview of the 2019 Update
Speaker: Amanda S. Heye, P.E., Washington Department of Ecology
Abstract: The Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington is the Washington State Department of Ecology’s (Ecology’s) primary guidance document for complying with NPDES Stormwater Permits and other stormwater related regulations on the west side of Washington State. In July 2019, Ecology released an updated version of the manual, which included significant updates to protect Washington State’s water quality. This presentation will cover Ecology’s goals for the update, and describe the significant changes made to the manual during the 2019 update.
Bio: Amanda has 15 years professional experience. She spent the first half of her career with a civil engineering consulting firm, where her focus was stormwater designs for compliance with municipal NPDES permit requirements. She then transitioned to a position with the Washington State Department of Ecology, where she leads the engineering team that updates the Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington, and provides technical assistance for stormwater retrofit projects that receive Ecology grant funding.
