Julie Vano is a project scientist in the Hydrometeorological Applications Program at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado.  Her research aims to better connect climate science and water management communities and use these connections to develop innovative ways to address climate impacts on local water resources. She holds an MS in Land Resources from the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington. Her work to promote better engagement at the science-application interface has been largely influenced by being a Science and Policy Fellow at the National Academy of Science in Washington, DC and participating in AWRA activities when she was a student.
